Intense Pulsed Light System have evolved into a new generation of devices that can erase years! Our office offers treatments using the McCue Ultra Variable Pulsed Light (VPL) system, the most advance professional skin treatment system available. VPL gently delivers precise dosage of light in small pulses. The light generates heat which targets melanin in age spots, sun damaged skin, collagen to fill in fine line, wrinkles and even scars. The light also targets blood to treat vascular conditions like face veins, leg spider veins and Rosacea. VPL can also treat acne, acne scarring and small warts. This incredible new technology does all of these treatments with minimal discomfort. Most people report feeling a mild ‘snapping’ sensation (like a snap of a small rubber band). A series of four – eight treatments are done at three week intervals. Each treatment only takes 20 minutes.
Age Spots, Melasma, Birth Marks, or Warts
Age spots, also known as liver spots or solar lentigines, are brown, black, or gray marks on the skin that range in size from freckle-sized to larger than a centimeter. Melasma is a condition that causes dark brown or gray patches on the face, often due to hormonal changes. Birthmarks are benign marks that can appear on the skin of newborns or develop later in life. IPL technology uses high-intensity laser beams to target and remove unwanted skin cells, promoting the growth of new skin cells in the targeted area, and is commonly used to treat skin irregularities caused by sun damage, hyperpigmentation, scars, birthmarks, and stretch marks. IPL treatment requires 4 to 8 sessions for the reduction of age spots, liver spots, and hyperpigmentation from melasma, depending on the depth of the skin condition. IPL is a non-ablative treatment that does not damage the surface of the skin.

Collagen Remodelling (Fine Lines & Wrinkles)
IPL laser treatment, also known as photo rejuvenation or photo facial treatment, is a non-surgical cosmetic skin procedure that corrects skin irregularities and reverses signs of aging. It reduces fine lines and wrinkles and improves complexion by evening out skin tone and radiance. Multiple sessions are required for long-term results, and younger patients use it as a preventative anti-aging solution. The treatment is generally painless, with only a slight pinch or prickling sensation. There is no downtime, and patients can resume their daily activities immediately. IPL technology is considered safe with minimal risk of side effects, although skin irritation, redness, itchiness, and sensitivity to UV rays are possible. It is crucial to apply high-strength SPF sunscreen to protect newly exposed skin cells from sun damage. IPL treatment also reduces scars, birthmarks, and stretch marks, and results are long-term to permanent.

Acne Treatments, Acne Scarring
Acne affects 90 percent of teens and a quarter of adults, causing breakouts on the face, back, neck, and other areas. IPL acne treatment is a light-based therapy that destroys acne-causing bacteria and shrinks overactive sebaceous glands. IPL releases yellow, green, and red light pulses, and the red light stimulates collagen production, which improves skin tone and healing. The treatment is not painful, but patients may feel mild to moderate discomfort and redness afterward. Skin discoloration, hair loss, and blisters are rare side effects. IPL is not recommended for very dark or tanned skin or pregnant women. Those on prescription acne medication should consult a doctor before treatment. Each session lasts about 30 minutes, and four to six sessions are typically required for significant improvement. IPL is a side-effect-free alternative to topical and prescription acne remedies.

Vein Therapy, Leg Veins
Spider veins are a common cosmetic concern that can be removed through IPL (Intensive Pulse Light) vein treatment. Spider veins are clusters of superficial purple or red veins that are caused primarily by heredity and increased pressure within the vein system. IPL treatment generates heat through intense pulse-light frequencies, damaging vessel walls and causing the vessel to collapse and seal. The spider vein contracts and becomes invisible over several weeks, with no damage to surrounding tissue. Treatment takes 15 to 45 minutes, and patients may experience redness and bruising. IPL is not recommended for pregnant women, individuals taking Accutane, those with scarring or acute sunburn, or those with dark skin. Two to six treatments are typically needed, spaced three to four weeks apart. A non-smoker in good physical and mental health with fair skin is a good candidate for IPL treatment.

Rosacea & Broken Capillaries Vein Therapy
Rosacea is a common skin disorder characterized by facial redness and may develop into persistent redness or red lines on the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead. Early stage rosacea may be misdiagnosed as sunburn, causing a delay in treatment. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) offers one of the best treatments for rosacea, especially for facial redness. A specific wavelength of light is absorbed by the blood vessels and converted to heat, breaking down and damaging the lesion. The damaged blood vessels are absorbed and carried away by the lymphatic system, eventually removing the appearance of rosacea from the skin. The procedure takes 10 to 30 minutes, and 3 to 5 treatments at 2 to 3 week intervals are recommended for best results. Sunscreen should be used to limit exposure to sunlight and prevent further damage. There may be slight reddening after treatment, but makeup can be applied, and sun exposure should be avoided for 24-48 hours
